Early Voting 

October 19 – 23, 2026

It is good Christian stewardship for Christians to vote. Our nation was founded on Christian principles, and we honor our Christian heritage by voting. Christians protect and advance the kingdom of God in America when they vote their Christian faith that they valued. Christians have a responsibility to take a stand against government policies that are contrary to biblical standards. The words of John Adams are insightful:

"Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people.

It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

Guidelines for Participating in Early Voting

Know the early voting procedures in your locality. Call the Board of Elections in your county to find out the details, including the time schedule, and ask when it is less crowded. This also includes knowing the law regarding voter registration — some states allow churches to conduct nonpartisan voter registration.

Coordinate an early voting day (or days) with your church. It could be led by the pastor, or he could designate a member to lead it. This works well for retired members, who can meet at the church and take a church van or bus to the voting location, or simply carpool. Some may want to do this after a short breakfast and prayer meeting at the church. Always keep church-connected efforts nonpartisan. Some organizations provide nonpartisan voting guides for churches to have available during election season; your pastor may approve them for distribution.

For those who work during the week, early voting is a good option. They might ask a Christian friend at work to join them for a drive-thru lunch and then head to the voting location together. An employer may grant extra time for this, since it can save time compared to waiting in a long line on Election Day.

If your church does not make early voting a church-wide event, Christians can still connect with friends and combine a breakfast or lunch outing with their early voting trip.

You can wear patriotic attire to the voting location, but DO NOT wear anything that promotes a candidate, political party or a position on a political issue.
